"a blue Christmas without you. Decorations of red-"
Amethyst eyes stared at the flashing numbers from under the blanket mornfully.
~That's not nice.~
There was the jingle of a bell and a feline face with red-orange eyes flooded the field of vision.
"Nyau?"
There was grumbling and the blanket lifted revealing blury eyed pale face and mess of black hair.
"Morning Mike(Mee-kay)," the girl mumbled as the cat licked the tip of her nose before flopping back down. The cat mewed in confusion and gently bopped the top of her head, his two tales twitching slightly.
* * * * * *
Mike licked his chops after finishing his breakfast as his "owner" completed primming herself, the crimson red streak that dangled a couple of inches longer than the rest of her bangs over her left eye clearly visible now that her short cut hair was under control. The futon was rolled up and stowed away transforming the cramped little bedroom into a less cramped work space. Her finger skimmed over the calander tacked above a table.
"Christmas without a date. I hate this time of year," she said to herself as she sat down and flipped through her dayplanner,
"Ah well the dateless must still pay the rent right?"
Mike meowed in relpy before returning to washing himself. The girl looked up with rye amusement then noted what the cat was sitting on.
"Mike!" She shooed him off the picture frame and set it back up. Only to have the feline knock it over again. Sighing she went back
to her planner.
"Hmmm... First appointment's in an hour. Let's go."
Mike jumped into a dark draw-string bookbag that the girl picked up and after grabbing some other stray items: a hand full of mirror charms and small bottles with an assortment of different colored liquids inside, trotted out the door.
"So what do you think Mike? Are the people we're seeing today hopeless singles like us desperate for attention?"
"Nyau!"
She laughed to herself while exiting the apartment building, bundling herself against the falling snow. ~I remember now, the woman sounded frantic over the phone last night. I doubt it's something that shallow. Maybe I...~
She shook her head and squished that thought. Mother always said, "The only time a witch truely does good is when the night becomes eternal."

OOC: I'll say this I don't know that much about Eastern "witchcraft" so I'm mixing a bit of western in and applying abit of the "Practical Magic" feel. I'm researching as I go along I promise just don't expect accurasy. Also I'm going with the darker side of
superstitious beliefs with this. Yeah there's going to be more than a bit of angst with this girl.

Now for a shameless plug:

Man just when you loose hope here I am! XD
Here's the Prelude to An Enigma of Light and Night
The jumper stared past his feet. Loose pebbles dropped several stories down the side of the building until they were no longer visible before hitting the toy like street below.
“That’s a long drop,” a feminine voice remarked from out of nowhere startling him.
“Stay away!” he cried frantically, putting his hands between him and a girl on sitting on the ledge. She appeared normal in every since of the word but she wasn’t there before. She looked up at him blankly for a moment then raised her hands.
“Don’t worry I mean no harm. You’re doing that already,” she told him calmly then put her hands down.
“Who? W-what are you?”
“I’m just curious that’s all. Just think of me as a questioner.”
“Huh?”
“You’re so scared why are you out here?”
“The-the monsters,” he pointed behind them, “They’re gonna get me! The-they won’t leave me alone!”
The girl looked back only to see a trashed room, “I don’t see anything.”
“Oh they’re there! They’re there!”
She shook her head and looked back up at him again, “Are you sure this the only way?”
He nodded vigorously and skittered away slightly as she stood.
“There’s no going back from it. Look there’s nothing there, no monsters. You can go inside.”
“N-no!”
“I see. Last chance. You can still choose.”
He moved closer to the edge in growing panic.
“Alright then,” she took off her coat revealing huge jet black wings that spread slightly, “Follow me.”
The man’s eye’s widened and he reached out to touch the feathers as she leaned forward and dove off. He watched as her wings snapped open lifting the girls slightly before beginning a slow decent.
He leaped after her, quickly realizing what he was really doing as he plummeted like a rock. Flailing and screaming he reached for her when he caught up with her.
“I didn’t say I’d catch you,” she informed him coldly as he fell by.
He died on impact when he slammed onto the pavement. The girl landed lightly on her feet a few minutes later. Curiosity and confusion filled her eyes she regarded him more closely as if she herself didn’t understand what she saw. The crowd that burst on to the scene didn’t notice her and she even less the bit of chalky dust that settled on one of her wings as she continued to investigate.
High overhead a young man in black gazed over them all with a bit of amusement.
“So what do you think Watcher?” he asked the gargoyle beside him.
“She really is an angel isn’t she?” Watcher stated causing more stone to chip away as it spoke.
“Yes the only one to turn from the light since the Great Rebellion.”
“I thought that was impossible milord.”
“Oh there is a way but only one knows how.”
“Who?”
“The Queen of the Night.”
“How could she accomplish something that the rest of us have been struggling to do for ages?”
“You know as well as I that she excels at capturing those with vulnerable hearts. The secret must lie there.”

Oh dear.
Oops.
Been a while huh? ^_^;

Well at anyrate here's a sneak peek at the fanfic that will have the new Black Rose Society later on but right now I'm setting the stage.

Laughter and scattered conversation filled the Ohtori fencing hall as the club finished for the day. Juri Arisugawa the team captain was given wide berth as she put away her equipment. The members were accustomed to her cold behavior but she was in a particularly bad mood today. Only two people went over to her not afraid.
“What’s wrong Juri?” Miki Kaoru her younger vice-captain and closest equal asked with concern.
“She’s still got a bug up her butt because the new girl hasn’t showed up,” Shiori Takastuki explained shrugging in lighthearted exasperation, “She’s skipped her first day it seems.”
“I’m going to have to deal with that prattling Mr. Sugaki now. It’s my responsibility to keep track of attendance,” the copper-haired girl reminded her and went to the girl’s lockers.
“Maybe she got lost. Who is she?” the blue haired boy inquired with growing curiosity.
“Mai Kanzaki, I have geography with her. She kept falling asleep and the teacher was really cruel to her for it.”
“Well you’re not supposed to sleep in class Miki chided.
“She wasn’t doing it on purpose. I hear she that she just got here this morning from France and was brought directly to the academy.”
“Wow why did she stay with some relatives for a while and rest?”
“Neither or her grandparents from either side of her family would let her. They say her enrollment papers aren’t even started yet.”
“That’s unfair.”
“Tell me about it,” the maroon haired girl rolled her eyes then turned to the locker room as well, “See you around Mickey.”
“Bye.”

As always R&R. ^_^

Something new for "UTENAUTENAUTENA!"*

This show just gets my brain going...

The New Black Rose Society

Once again in Nemuro Memorial Hall a new Black Rose Society is set up. The key point for this society isn’t killing the rose bride, simply taking the power away from the chosen duelists AKA Utena and the Student Council. Also the society actually is a society. Growing with each new duelist. They are the chosen to stop the chosen.

At the center of it is a brother and sister duo the Ryuuzawas. Their dark, gothic style sets them apart from the rest of the Ohtori student body more than Utena’s boy’s uniform. They always wear black, even their school uniforms. Outside of the society they tease each other in a comical sibling rivalry unlike the incestuous relations/obsessions that have been seen so far but there are still things that are kept hidden.

Mamoru is the president of the society. He is a former duelist that discovered the truth behind the game. Vengeful and violent he holds a major grudge against the Dean. However he cannot take part in the duels because he has vowed to never to pick up a sword.

Kohitsuji is the power source of the duel. Very much the dark rose bride. Openly accused of being a witch, traitor and murder by Mamoru she takes the sacrificial traits to the extreme. Outside of the society she is bouncey and cheerful to mask her suicidal personality. She refers to Akio as her prince in a way that confuses all about who’s side she’s really on.

They (or more likely Kohi-hime) have uncovered the Might of Diablo, the polar opposite of the Power of Dios. It manifests as a phrase written in blood on the sword of the latest Black Rose duelist. The ceremony that summons this again is again the opposite of Dios. After Mamoru has convinced the swordsman he’ll give the person a black signet and ask for their sword. When it’s handed over Kohi-hime will do her chant (yet another twisted variation) except she’s on her knees in prayer before a shrine/coffin. Once she’s done Mamoru cups her throat and pulls her back in that inhuman fashion of the rose bride and she opens her arms. He then stabs her through the heart then instructs the “champion” to pull it out a la the sword in the stone. The price of the might is death for the Rose Bride. Of course, Kohi-hime is suicidal.

The Might of Diablo isn’t a guiding hand like the Power of Dios. It isn’t passed around from victor to victor; it’s not even gained in the arena. It increases strength, speed, reaction time, etc. It’s icing if the person already has skill if they can adjust to the switch fast enough. However, if the duelist looses the writing evaporates off the sword and Kohi-hime, who has been placed in the coffin, comes back to life and gets out without even damage to her dress.

Note: I have to figure out the bloody phrase. So I declare a contest! Whichever one of my fans (yeah all four of them) that thinks of the most fitting solution will get a great big noprise (my deepest appologies Stan Lee-sensei)! ^^; Well bragging rites at least...

C&C are always welcome. Flamers will be laughed at and used to feed the cremation fires. ^^

*Sound bite from my giant teddy. *_*

Ok it's been a while so I thought I'd put this in at least. Warning it was for a school project so it's a bit out of my style.

The Teen’s Tale

In the middle of the country
There was a school called Ohtori
Its history was long
A staff nearly a hundred strong
The vise principal a muchly feared sort
Attending was a girl that made sport
Zipping through halls by illegal transportation
Much to the monitor’s consternation
Early mornings begin the daily chase
The elderly Mrs. Kame at surprising pace
Still couldn’t quite catch Bunny by the end
Slipping out of eternal detention to spend
“You’re pressing your luck,”
Warned a friend, Jill Truck
“Remember the story of the Tortoise and the Hare;
Though he thought a nap made the race fair,
The careless Hare slept for too long,
And when he woke up his title was gone.”
But the daring girl was full of crassness
“Like I’d nod off between classes.
As if anyone can snare me on blades
I’m going to make records in spades.”
And so it went on ‘til afternoon
Each day the teachers vowed soon
that she’ll learn her lesson
With great repercussion
Time past and it became clear
Summer was drawing near
And the rabbit girl remained uncaught
Perhaps in high school she would be taught
Mrs. Kame boiled with desperation
She wanted proper vindication
With every day the girl got bolder
All the students cheered for her
She had become a good showman
It was apparent she’d become a racing sensation
She wouldn’t pause to flirtation
She didn’t want to loose her reputation
But Fate handed her disaster,
when she ran ill of a concert banner
She couldn’t see and lost control.
Even her rival mourned the toll
She discovered that rules have reason
In the hospital with her arm broken
Nothing could mend her shattered pride,
but siblings have a way of turning the tide
Loving worship form her little brother
Rekindled her inner honor
“Just wait,” she promised, “I’ll be better than ever!”
“Remember the saying; ‘Never say never!’”
